Hey there, lovely readers! Today, I want to share a little story from a recent wedding function I attended that left me with a heavy heart. Now, don't worry, it's not a sad story about love lost or anything like that. It's about something a bit unexpected: fish. Yes, you read that right, fish!

So, picture this: I'm all dolled up, ready to celebrate love and happiness at this wedding function. Everything seems perfect, until I stumble upon something that breaks my heart – an artificial pond filled with about 100 to 120 fish. Now, before you imagine a picturesque scene straight out of a fairytale, let me set the record straight.

This pond, instead of being a serene haven for these aquatic creatures, resembled more of a chaotic fishbowl. The scorching heat of the location only added to the distress. What struck me the most was the lack of basic amenities for the fish – no oxygen pump, no filter, nothing to ensure their well-being. And to make matters worse, people, both young and old, were sticking their hands in the pond, treating it like some sort of interactive display.

As if that wasn't enough, some folks thought it was okay to toss in snacks like wafers, chips, and biscuits into the pond. Now, I'm all for enjoying delicious treats, but definitely not at the expense of innocent lives.

By the end of the function, my heart sank as I realized that nearly 70 percent of the fish had perished. It was a stark reminder of the consequences of neglect and ignorance when it comes to caring for living beings, no matter how small.

Reflecting on this experience, I couldn't help but think – why do we prioritize decoration over compassion? Why do we overlook the needs of these voiceless creatures in our celebrations?

If there's one thing I took away from this, it's the importance of proper care and management, especially when it involves living beings. So, here's a thought: instead of using live fish as

mere decorations, why not opt for an empty pond or find alternative ways to add beauty to our celebrations?

Let's pledge to make our festivities more compassionate and considerate towards all living creatures. After all, love and kindness should extend beyond just the human realm, don't you think?

Until next time, let's spread love and compassion, one celebration at a time. Cheers to that!
