The Zhen Zhu Flowerhorn, in particular, is prized for its striking "flower-like" markings, which are often bright and vivid, including shades of red, orange, gold, and purple. These markings, combined with its unique head shape, make the Zhen Zhu Flowerhorn one of the most visually striking fish in the aquarium hobby.

One of the most prominent features of the Zhen Zhu Flowerhorn is its large, raised hump on the head, known as the nuchal hump, which gives it a distinctive, almost regal appearance.
